THE FLOWER OF THE IONIAN SEA

Athens is the capital and largest city of Greece which dominates the Attica region with its recorded history spanning over 3,400 years and its earliest human presence starting somewhere between the 11th and 7th millennium BC.

Classical Athens was a powerful city-state that emerged in conjunction with the seagoing development of the port of Piraeus, which had been a distinct city prior to its 5th century BC incorporation with Athens. A center for the arts, learning and philosophy, home of Plato’s Academy and Aristotle’s Lyceum, it is widely referred to as the cradle of western civilization and the birthplace of democracy, largely because of its cultural and political impact on the European continent and the Romans. In modern times, Athens is a large cosmopolitan metropolis and central to economic, financial, industrial, maritime, political and cultural life in Greece.

Enjoy the Athens Riviera by a bus tour with a breathtaking drive along the scenic coastal road and admire the scenic temple of Poseidon at Sounio. During this relaxing ride you’ll enjoy splendid views of the Saronic Gulf, while passing through some of Athens’ most beautiful suburbs, including Hellinikon Olympic Complex, Glyfada, Vouliagmeni, and Varkiza before arriving at Cape Sounion, a historic and beautiful area of Greece. The steep cliffs offer breathtaking, panoramic views. On a clear day you can see at least 7 of the Greek islands. In addition to the views, visit the famous 5th-Century BC Temple of Poseidon, dedicated to the God of the Sea. The beauty of the surviving Doric columns has inspired many poets, including Lord Byron who carved his name on one of the columns. Walk back in time and feel the beat of Ancient Greece as you stare across magical views of crystal clear waters. In the late afternoon, return to your hotel and overnight.

Kefalonia is the largest of the Ionian islands and its known for its sparkling azure waters, dazzling beaches and deep emerald green mountains.

It also carries a rich history in culture and tradition.

Upon arrival in Kefalonia, transfer to your hotel for check in and relaxation. The rest of the day will be free at leisure. You can either go swimming at the beautiful beaches or go out for lunch at one of the many traditional restaurants. Later in the evening, take advantage of your hotels’ central location and explore the capital of Kefalonia – Argostoli.

Last stop on your trip is the island of Zakynthos, which is famous for its impressive landscape and crystal-clear blue waters. You will get the chance to take a dip in the sea at the famous beach of Navajo, renowned for its impressive shipwreck and vertical white rock face.

Cruise along by the Blue Caves to admire the unique scenery, keeping a watch out for sea turtles and monk seals. Finally, in Agios Nikolaos, you can enjoy an optional lunch or you can swim and chill out under the shade of umbrellas.
